THE BLACK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION (BBA)
Is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) corporation established in 1974 as the American Black Merchants Association. Initially, the organization was comprised of local African American grocery store owners. The name was later changed to represent the broadened diversity of its membership. The BBA is the largest trade association of its type in the Mid-South. Among BBA members are self-employed professionals, entrepreneurs, churches, economic development organizations and corporations who all unite behind a single goal of empowerment through entrepreneurship and improvement of business and growth opportunities for minority and women owned business.
