Stephanie T. Alexander is the Executive Director for the Memphis Area Minority Contractors Association (MAMCA). The Memphis Area Minority Contractors Association is a trade organization for minority contractors within the construction field.
Energetic and smart, Stephanie is eager to help minorities in the Memphis area to become successful business owners in the field of construction.
In 2008, she accepted the roll as Executive Director for MAMCA. Her favorite quote is also her life’s guideline, “together we stand, divided we fall,” she has taken on her position with MAMCA and made it her primary goal to connect with minority contractors in the Tri State area to strengthen the economic value in minority contractors. Under her leadership, she has increased the memberships by 15 percent and has had continuous growth. Stephanie’s job consists of making sure that minority contractors are knowledgeable of law changes, career opportunities, educational development, and funding in the field of construction; as well as the economic benefits of minorities being involved in city developments.
Before accepting her role with the minority contractors, she ran her own small construction and property management business for 6 years. The Williams Hudson Alexander Company LLC. was a vision that she shared with her sisters.
A native of Memphis, Stephanie attended Clark Atlanta University and The University of Memphis where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She is currently a member for the Diversity Supply Board for Memphis Light Gas Water. She’s also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Independent Landlord Association. Stephanie is a mother of two Jessica and George, and a wife for 19 years to George Jr.
As a strong believer of a sturdy family makes a solid foundation Stephanie diligently works towards to passing on the same idea with MAMCA and its members. “A successful man is one who can build a firm foundation with bricks that others throw at him.”
